Acme Character Studio, Scooby-Doo Team for Customizable Merch
Users can enter the world of Scooby-Doo with a custom avatar to be displayed on merchandise, apparel and in a personalized graphic novel.
Acme Character Studio, a technology company developing immersive fan experiences and products, has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery to create an immersive experience for enthusiasts of Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc. Fans can head to the Scooby-Doo Character Studio and create a stylized avatar and a persona to fit in with the Scooby Gang.
The site offers the opportunity to create a custom graphic novel, custom Scooby-Doo poster or personalized T-shirts and hoodies, all featuring the custom character as part of the action.
The experience begins with a Q&A session with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo, featuring new dialog voiced by Matthew Lillard and Frank Welker, respectively. Fans can speak directly to the characters via their device’s microphone, and Shaggy and Scooby will dynamically answer based on responses. They even refer to the user by name. Users can also elect to type answers if preferred. This interview will shape the character’s personality traits later in the experience. The online interactive interview is free and available now on desktop, tablet and coming soon to mobile platforms.
Users can launch into the character designer after the conversation with Scooby and Shaggy. Using the options available, they can change body type, face shape, facial features, complexion, hairdo, clothing and more to create an original character or a self-insert.
Once the interview and character customization are finished, the final step is manifesting them into reality. Character Studio offers bespoke merchandise based on the character’s appearance and personality. Fans can order an original printed graphic novel retelling of the classic Scooby-Doo episode, “What a Night for a Knight,” with their custom character included in the story. Also available is a poster, T-shirt or hoodie of the full Scooby Gang and the custom character. Designs include the custom character and the gang driving the Mystery Machine against the backdrop of a haunted castle or posing in front of a spooky forest.
The Scooby-Doo Character Studio experience is free, with the custom merchandise available through the integrated shop.
