‘Yu-Gi-Oh’ Adds European Partners

Anime series expands European offering with a sticker series and plush toys.

4K Media has tapped Sakami Merchandise and P. & R. Permissions & Rights/Prava I Prevodi to develop new “Yu-Gi-Oh”-branded products for the European region.

First, Sakami Merchandise will release branded plush toys based on the characters from the “Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V” series. The new plush toys will be available in early 2017 at specialty retailers and hobby shops that sell manga across Europe.

Meanwhile, P. & R. Permissions & Rights/Prava I Prevodi will introduce stickers and promotional sticker albums based on the “Yu-Gi-Oh! GX,” “Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s” and “Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL” series. The new collection will be available later this year in Eastern European markets including Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and Macedonia.

“Each new installment of the ‘Yu-Gi-Oh’ franchise, either the television series or feature films, attracts another layer of licensing partners to the brand,” says Jennifer Coleman, vice president, licensing and marketing, 4K Media. “The synergies between our broadcasting, licensing and retail partners continue to enliven and invigorate consumer demand, keeping ‘Yu-Gi-Oh’ top of mind for fans around the globe.”
