Eartha Kitt Lifestyle Brand Launches

The daughter of actress, songstress and cabaret star Eartha Kitt (known best for her recording of “Santa Baby”) has launched a new lifestyle brand inspired by her late mother, called Simply Eartha.

Throughout a career that spanned six decades, Kitt lived a green lifestyle before it was chic. The Simply Eartha brand will be inspired by Kitt’s artistic sensibility and holistic lifestyle.

Simply Eartha will initially launch a line of home décor items featuring the images, writings and wisdom of Kitt. Images and likenesses of the star will be used throughout initially to acquaint consumers with the brand, but will not necessarily be a part of the design of future lines. Ultimately Kitt’s daughter, Kitt Shapiro, plans to evolve Simply Eartha into a lifestyle brand that embodies her mother’s style and message through products that offer a connection to the past but have a modern appeal.

"People may be shocked to learn the amazingly fundamental, holistic lifestyle and easy-living philosophies of my mother," says Shapiro. "Establishing the Simply Eartha brand is my tribute to my mother and a way to share the wonderfully beautiful organic and humble way of life that my mother lived, taught and exemplified."
