Discovery Communications has partnered with publisher Parragon for a TLC Cooking publishing line, in a licensing agreement brokered by Big Tent Entertainment, North American licensing agent for the TLC brand.
The line will include cookbooks, e-books and recipe apps that will feature family, style, home and cooking tips from the TLC network’s most popular personalities and shows.
“Through an array of family and food based programming, TLC inspires viewers to enjoy and celebrate food and the satisfaction of sharing their creations with family and friends,” says Elizabeth Bakacs, vice president of licensing, TLC. “Parragon is an industry leader and the perfect partner to bring the best recipes and tips straight from our TLC kitchens to viewer’s tables nationwide.”
The first title to be released under the partnership, TLC Cooking, 150 Timeless Recipes From Our Family To Yours, will be available in early 2013. The book will feature TLC personalities sharing their favorite recipes.
Discovery and Parragon also plan to launch a “TLC Family Kitchen” mobile app, featuring recipes and cooking tools like a timer, shopping list and meal planner. The free, basic version of the app will include 75 recipes, with additional recipe bundles available for purchase.
