Puma has introduced the Clyde Court #Reform, a new basketball shoe that supports the advocacy efforts of hip-hop artist Meek Mill and Olympian Tommie Smith.
The launch coincides with the debut of the Reform Alliance, a new organization dedicated to revamping the American criminal justice system.
The organization is spearheaded by Meek Mill; Philadelphia 76ers co-owner and Fanatics executive chairman Michael Rubin; entrepreneur and PUMA Basketball creative director Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter; Kraft Group chief executive officer and New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft; Brooklyn Nets co-owner and philanthropic investor Clara Wu Tsai; Third Point LLC chief executive officer and founder Daniel S. Loeb; Galaxy Digital chief executive officer and founder Michael E. Novogratz and Vista Equity Partners founder, chairman and chief executive officer Robert F. Smith.
The Clyde Court #Reform shoe features colors and design elements relevant to themes of the criminal justice reform movement such as black for unjust sentencing, red for sacrifice and gold for victories won.
The shoe also features a quote from Tommie Smith on the heel. Puma has been named the exclusive brand partner of the Reform Alliance and will donate 100 percent of profits from the sale of the Clyde Court #Reform to the organization. The Clyde Court #Reform sneakers are available for pre-sale now on Puma.com and are scheduled for full release on Feb. 1.
