Former Microsoft Exec Launches Swiftwater Group

The man behind the Microsoft Xbox brand for nearly 12 years has left his post to bring expertise to brands and non-profits.

Robert Matthews, global head, integrated marketing, Xbox, has left his position with Microsoft to launch Swift Water Group, which aims to provide marketing expertise to brands and nonprofits.

Matthews worked behind the scenes leading Xbox’s global integrated marketing strategy. From record growth and engagement, he built strategies that shifted the business to be fan-focused and digital-first, leading the Xbox brand to be the only gaming brand on the BrandZ 100 most valuable global brands list in 2019. He was also the wizard behind the curtain for the Nintendo brand pioneering motion gaming and driving market expansion with the Wii.
