E1 Entertainment has tapped Imagi Animation Studio's CGI "Astro Boy" for licensing in the U.K.

Based on the Japanese comic character, created in the 1950s by Osamu Tezuka, the animation is set to premiere in January 2010.

Key partners on board include American Greetings for greeting cards and stationery, Penguin for publishing, D3 Publisher for video games, IDW for comic books, Jazwares for toys and activity, Hot Toys for toys and Pyramid for posters.

E1 Entertainment is focusing on apparel, fashion accessories, home furnishings, gifts and accessories and confectionery.
