Reebok International's Above the Rim brand was recently acquired by Collective Brands for an undisclosed amount. Meanwhile, Collective Brands Performance + Lifestyle Group has added Dan Brausch as head of its international team.
The acquisition of ATR will see Collective Licensing International focused on brand building, management and expansion in the U.S. and worldwide. The urban basketball brand has product in footwear, apparel and accessories. It joins Collective's other brands such as Airwalk, Vision Street Wear, Sims, Lamar, Hind and Spot Bilt.
"ATR fits nicely with the CLI business model and team, which is focused on youth lifestyle and athletic brands inspired by music, street fashion and West Coast lifestyle activities like board sports and others," says Matt Rubel, chief executive officer of Collective Brands, the parent company of CLI. "Our Collective Licensing team will leverage its expert brand-building and licensing model and unique competencies in the youth and athletic arena to further build-out and amplify all the greatness of the ATR brand to seize licensing opportunities across the globe."
In other company news, Dan Brausch was appointed to head the international team at Collective Brands Performance + Lifestyle Group, where he will lead growth initiatives for Sperry Top-Sider, Saucony, Keds and Stride Rite Children's Group in Europe, Asia and Latin America. He most recently served as North American president of Radley + Co., a U.K. premium bridge handbag brand. He also worked at Reebok International from 1995 to 2008, where he headed North American retail and various other roles.
