Liberty University Athletics and The Brandr Group (TBG) have established a group licensing agreement for the school’s student athletes. The partnership creates a pathway for student athletes across all Liberty University varsity sports to profit from their name, image and likeness (NIL) using the school’s official trademarks and logos.

“We are excited to partner with The Brandr Group to provide our student athletes with a comprehensive group licensing opportunity,” says Ian McCaw, director, athletics, Liberty University. “This is a further expansion of the SOAR Initiative that offers Flames Nation new ways to support Liberty and our exceptional student athletes in the NIL marketplace.”

The partnership with TBG allows for the collective use of student athletes' NIL in licensing and marketing programs, co-branded with Liberty University logos and marks. Student athletes will have the option to voluntarily join a group licensing program. TBG will facilitate group licensing opportunities on behalf of the student athletes and the program does not limit individual NIL rights.

TBG, a brand management, marketing and licensing agency, will manage and administer the program as well as develop licensing opportunities on behalf of the student-athletes. TBG also manages the group rights program for the NFL, NBA and MLB players' associations in the college space.

Fans will be able to purchase official Liberty University merchandise, including team jerseys with the name and number of their favorite Flames players who have joined the respective group licensing program, once TBG enters into agreements with applicable school trademark licensees.

“We are delighted to be partnering with Liberty University Athletics to uncover rewarding opportunities for their student athletes,” says Rick Perko, vice president, program development, The Brandr Group. “This group licensing agreement will enable student athletes to financially benefit from their NIL through a vast merchandising portfolio while also enhancing the fan experience.”
