Warner Bros. Consumer Products has joined forces with SON Events to host a series of Scooby-Doo Virtual Runs, a social responsibility initiative to bring awareness to animal welfare.

Set to take place in September and October, the Scooby-Doo Virtual runs offer athletes of all levels and their four-legged friends the opportunity to participate in a variety of events including:The Doo Good 5k in September, a celebration of the Scooby-Doo Doo Good campaign that offers winners a medal, t-shirt and downloadable certificate, as well as a medal and bandana for dogs;And the Scooby-Doo “Scoobtober” 5K and 10K in October that offers participants a medal, backpack, downloadable certificate, as well as a medal and bandana for dogs.“Together with the team behind the Scooby-Doo Virtual Runs, we're excited to see Scooby fans, runners, walkers and many furry friends across the country come together to participate in these virtual fun run events this fall,” says Maryellen Zarakas, senior vice president, franchise management and marketing, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Not only are we getting active, but we’re also joining forces with the community to bring attention to the importance of ensuring the well-being and care of pets and all animals through our Scooby-Doo DOO GOOD pro-social initiative.”Competitors who partake in both events will receive a special series medal commemorating their two-month achievement.“Everyone loves Scooby-Doo! We’re thrilled to help offer a world where everyone can set out not only to reach for their own personal best, but also to help others achieve theirs–bring attention to a great cause for our pet friends–and while having a great time doing it,” says Mark Knutson, partner, SON Events. “That’s exactly what we’re setting out to accomplish with the Scooby-Doo Virtual Run.”A portion of each entry fee will benefit Best Friends Animal Society.
