Mattel, Freshly Picked, Rastaclat and more are on board to celebrate the beloved character’s birthday with footwear, bracelets and more.
NORTH AMERICA–Sanrio has unveiled a slate of product launches and promotions to celebrate its beloved character Hello Kitty’s birthday, which took place Nov. 1.
First, Sanrio and Mattel have teamed up to pay homage to the global pop icon with a specially designed Barbie. The Barbie Hello Kitty is inspired by Hello Kitty’s signature red bow and features a Hello Kitty skirt, handbag and figurine. The limited edition doll also includes a doll stand and certificate of authenticity, designating her status as a Gold Label Barbie Signature Doll. The Barbie Hello Kitty is now available for pre-order on Barbie.com and will be available at select retailers nationwide, as well as at Sanrio.com and select Sanrio stores, in mid-November.
The boutique baby moccasin brand Freshly Picked is also on board to create a collection of Hello Kitty moccasins for infants and toddlers. The handmade, leather moccasins will be available in six styles–a mix of Jane styles–and are now available on FreshlyPicked.com. The moccasins will also be available at select Sanrio stores, select boutiques and on Sanrio.com in mid-November.
Meanwhile, Rastaclat has partnered with Sanrio to create a capsule collection inspired by Hello Kitty, Keroppi and Badtz-Maru. The Rastaclat bracelet collection will be available via Rastaclat.com and Sanrio.com, as well as select Sanrio stores and specialty retailers, starting Nov. 15.
Torti “L’Eleganza del Vino” Wines has created several blends, as well as new packaging, for the popular character. The Hello Kitty wine lineup now includes a “Sweet Pink” blend, a Sparkling Rose; a Pinot Noir and a Pinot Nero Vinified in White as well as a special edition Sparkling Rose. The limited edition wines are now available in specialty wine and grocery channels, and online at HelloKitty.swvinvo.com.
The Hello Kitty Café also debuted a giant gingerbread cookie on Nov. 1, which will be available throughout the holiday season at all café locations and online at SquareUp.com.
Finally, Snapchat celebrated Hello Kitty’s birthday with a series of custom Hello Kitty lenses, which were available to fans Nov. 1-5.
