Brazilian brand will feature the classic cartoon character on a range of sandals.

King Features has partnered with Alpargatas to launch a collection of Havaianas-branded flip flops featuring characters Popeye, Olive Oyl and Bluto.

BR Licensing, Popeye’s Brazilian agent, brokered the deal.

The new range will feature three unisex designs–two with Popeye and one with Olive Oyl. In addition to the new collection, another line was launched earlier this summer featuring all three classic characters and included three styles–one for women and two in unisex sizes.

“We’re so pleased that Havaianas is our newest brand collaboration for Popeye,” says Cathleen Titus, vice president, international licensing, King Features. “These two brands communicate an ideal combination of strength, humor and fun.”

The new Popeye flip flops are now available worldwide in Havaianas stores.
