Paws, Inc. has tapped the consulting firm Philliou Partners to represent the Garfield brand to card-issuing banks outside of the U.S.

The Industrial Bank of China has already issued more that 2.5 million Garfield-branded MasterCard credit cards in China.

Philliou specializes in licensing and sponsorship deals with banks, credit card issuers and payment networks such as Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and China Union Pay.

Philliou Partners will plans to initially launch Garfield credit cards in Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Mexico.
