Nickelodeon and Put Me in the Story have teamed up to develop customized children’s books starring Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob SquarePants.

Using the Put Me in the Story platform, a child’s name is integrated throughout the text, making him/her the star of the story. Each book also includes a photo and special message on the dedication page.

“Put Me in the Story books are an innovative way to bring kids the Nickelodeon characters they love in a fun and personalized way,” says Paula Allen, senior vice president, Nickelodeon Global Publishing. “We are excited to see kids have the opportunity to be a part of Dora’s and SpongeBob’s adventures through reading.”

Two titles–Dora’s Birthday Surprise! and Happy Birthday, SpongeBob!­–are already available on the Put Me in the Story website, and additional books including a second starring the Dora the Explorer and one featuring Bubble Guppies are planned for 2015.
