New ‘Peanuts’ Series Heads to TV

Animated series will be first-ever for the classic comic characters.

The new series is being produced by Normaal Animation, under license from Peanuts Worldwide, a joint venture between the Iconix Brand Group (80 percent) and family of brand creator Charles M. Schulz (20 percent).

The new series will see the individual “Peanuts” comic strips come to life for the first time as its own TV series through a watercolor art style and textured backgrounds and framing.

In addition the premiere of the series on May 9, Boomerang will also roll out select individual shorts from the series on the Cartoon Network video app.
