Mattel has teamed with the Child Accident Prevention Trust to launch a U.K.-based campaign featuring “Fireman Sam” to help raise awareness of child-related accidents.

In conjunction with Child Safety Week, June 6-12, the campaign will aim to teach children and parents about summer safety using Fireman Sam’s Top Ten Summer Safety Tips including how to have fun and stay safe to reduce the risk of accidents.

In addition to Fireman Sam’s Top Ten Summer Safety Tips, he and his team will be featured in animated videos to ensure all members of the family are aware of potential hazards that can cause accidents during the summer.

The campaign will also be supported with a marketing and PR program including communication via Child Safety Week and “Fireman Sam” media channels.

“’Fireman Sam’ is a great role model who champions action, bravery, community and safety within everyday life,” says Helen Genia, manager, consumer products category, Mattel U.K. “With the summer holidays fast approaching, the Summer Safety campaign is a relevant and fun way to relay key safety messages to children and parents during the summer, and what better way to kick it off than by teaming up with CAPT around Child Safety Week.”

Child Safety Week will take place across the U.K., June 6-12.
