Keio Electric to Bring Hello Kitty, ‘Gundam’ to Japanese Train Lines

Two iconic characters will face off during the morning commute in Japan.

Keio Electric Railway has announced the Hello Kitty and “Gundam” costume characters will be joining public transportation commuters on their morning commutes in Japan.

The costume characters will be facing off in Keio Line trains and Inokashira Station later this summer. The activation will be accompanied by a Hello Kitty x Gundam stampbook giveaway at select railway stations. Stations in Meidaimae, Chitose Kanzan, Chofu, Fuchu, Takasu Fudo and Hashimoto will take part in the giveaway.

The news comes during the 40th anniversary of the “Gundam” franchise and the 45th anniversary of Hello Kitty. Sanrio previously debuted a variety of partnerships including a character café in Japan.
