New restaurant in Scotland will feature the classic comic strip family.

DC Thomson will open the first Maw Broon’s Kitchen restaurant in Dundee, Scotland, next year.

The new restaurant will be based on the comic strip “The Broons” and will offer a range of fresh, locally sourced produce and Scottish staples such as mince ‘n’ tatties and “efternoon tea,” as well as lighter bites. The venue will aim to capture the essence of “The Broons” family by merging old-fashioned hospitality and comfort with good food and customer service.

Additionally, DC Thomson plans for the venue to host regular events and activities such as “baking wi’ the bairns,” storytelling and live Scottish entertainment.

The new restaurant follows the retail launch of Maw Broon’s Kitchen branded food products.

“The launch of a Maw Broon’s Kitchen in Dundee, the spiritual home of ‘The Broons,’ is a very exciting development for the Maw Broon’s Kitchen licensing program,” says Martin Lindsay, licensing manger, consumer products, DC Thomson. “This is a vision of bringing to life a treasured brand that is built on tradition and old-fashioned values. We see Dundee as being the first step on a Maw Broon’s Kitchen roll-out across Scotland within five years.”
