Coolabi is celebrating the 40th anniversary of its heritage brand Bagpuss with a raft of new licensed product deals.

To mark the first transmission of “Bagpuss” on Feb. 12, 1974, Coolabi has tapped new partners including Intelex for plush; PMS International for gifting and leisure plush; Digital Giving for personalized charity t-shirts; Heroes for Kids for personalized cake toppers, cards and tablecloths; Hype Associates for greeting cards; IndigoBlu for rubber stamps; Serif for digital card kits; and Immediate Media for a compilation magazine, Blossom.

The new partners join existing licensees such as Blues Clothing and Brands International Group.

Also in honor of the landmark anniversary, the original 13 episodes of the TV series “Bagpuss” have been digitized and re-versioned in HD for release later this year. The episodes will also be premiering in select U.K. cinemas throughout the year in conjunction with Picture House Cinemas.

“Bagpuss has remained a much-loved character for 40 years, and we are thrilled that so many new partners have come on board to help celebrate the brand’s anniversary,” says Fran Huxley, licensing consultant, Coolabi. “Fans of the series will be excited by the broad range of new product available at retail, and we look forward to launching the new DVDs and books later this year.”
