Cheeky Little Media has launched a licensing department to manage all licensing and merchandising activity for its brands called Cheeky Little Commercial.

David Taylor, commercial director, Cheeky Little Media, will continue to manage the production company’s brands and represent third-party brands to balance the commercial slate.

Cheeky Little Commercial first launched in Australia of its mother company’s new pre-school show, “Kangaroo Beach.”

Headstart will be the master toy partner for “Kangaroo Beach.” Other partners for the show include Pan MacMillan for publishing, Designworks for softlines across apparel, footwear, accessories and homewares and Zoggs for Swimming Aids.

“Being the director of Cheeky Little Commercial is like being a kid in a candy store for me,” says Taylor. “We’ve got such wonderful brands to work with and ‘Kangaroo Beach’ has made an incredible start. With industry leading partners signed for all key categories the next 12 months is going to be really exciting, the future looks very bright.”

“Our goal at Cheeky Little has always been to create popular shows that become the platform for enduring and much-loved brands,” says Patrick Egerton, founding partner, Cheeky Little Media. “We’ve focused a lot of resources into developing our expertise and momentum in this area, so setting up Cheeky Little Commercial as a separately managed entity was the logical next step.”

Cheeky Little Commercial is also representing cult Australian animated property “Beached Az” as well as working with Cheeky Little Media’s pre-school show “Kazoops” and kids comedies “Spongo, Fuzz & Jalapena” and “Bottersnikes & Gumbles.”
