American Greetings Entertainment will celebrate the Care Bears’ 35th anniversary next year with a slate of new retail, promotional and licensing partners across multiple categories.

First, on the fashion front, American Greetings has partnered with WildFox for girls’ apparel, Freshly Picked for baby moccasins and Baby Bling for infant headbands. Additionally, a 1982 Collector’s Edition Anniversary Classic plush by Just Play will launch to accompany the fashion line.

The Land of Nod will premiere a line of Care Bears-themed home and nursery décor. The new line will include bedding for infants and kids, plush sleeping bags, plush chairs and limited edition wall art. The range will launch for the 2017 holiday season.

The company has also partnered with Dylan’s Candy Bar for a line of sweets beginning October 2017. Meanwhile, California Donuts will debut a Care Bears donut, available exclusively at their Koreatown location in Los Angeles, Calif., throughout the summer of 2017.

Finally, American Greetings has partnered with Boy Meets Girl for an exclusive, co-branded window display; Paris-based retailer Colette for a Valentine’s Day collection; Iron Fist for junior’s apparel and Vinca USA for accessories and laser-cut jewelry.

“After three-and-a-half decades as an evergreen brand, Care Bears is more relevant than ever with robust, globally placed entertainment, licensing programs, websites, apps and a very engaged social media following,” says Sean Gorman, president, American Greetings. “But the 35th anniversary gives us a unique opportunity to both celebrate the nostalgia of our brand, and introduce new looks and products into the marketplace to ensure that the Care Bears will be around for many more decades to come.”
