Trunk Archive has been appointed by the Herb Ritts Foundation to represent Herb Ritts’ photography and brand for licensing.
The American fashion photographer was known for his black-and-white images and graphic simplicity.
Ritts' photography was featured on the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone and has been the subject of exhibitions worldwide. During his lifetime Ritts also created advertising campaigns for top fashion brands such as Calvin Klein, Chanel, Donna Karan, Armani and Gianni Versace.
The Herb Ritts photographic collection is now available for licensing in apparel, accessories, stationery, home décor, gift and furnishings.
The new licensing campaign will only serve to boost a brand that has remained strong despite Ritts’ 2002 death.
This year Ritts was included in Time magazine’s All-Time 100 Fashion Icons list and was featured in the Herb Ritts: LA Style exhibition at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, Calif., which was the most popular exhibit in the museum’s history.
Licensing proceeds will go to the Herb Ritts Foundation for use in HIV/AIDS research and educational programs that advance the art of photography.
