British accessories brand Zatchels has signed on to create a range of leather bags and accessories featuring the University of Oxford brand.

The partners first met at Brand Licensing Europe last year, resulting in the two-year deal, which was brokered by Oxford's licensing agent Performance Brands.

“Zatchels are a relatively young, yet ambitious company drawing upon a wealth of experience in the manufacture of leather goods,” says Chris Evans, managing director, Oxford Limited. “Both the creative and production values of Zatchels products are very impressive and we look forward to the launch of the first Oxford range later this year.”

For the back-to-school category, two more companies have signed with the University of Oxford to produce backpacks and school accessories. Global Brands will produce Oxford product for the U.A.E., while existing Chinese licensee Sky Unicorn has extended its distribution into Russia and Eastern Europe.
