John Deere has partnered with the gaming company Soul and Vibe Interactive to develop video games, entertainment apps and digital content based on the agriculture brand.
The multi-year licensing agreement will see Soul and Vibe develop and publish games and apps based on John Deere's line of agricultural and construction equipment for consoles, mobile devices, computers and social media platforms such as Facebook. Soul and Vibe will also create John Deere-branded virtual apparel and digital items for avatars.
“The popularity of farming themed games and simulations is constantly growing,” says Peter Anthony Chiodo, chief executive officer and president, Soul and Vibe. “Entering that genre of the gaming market with a powerhouse brand holds strategic significance for Soul and Vibe. The John Deere brand strongly appeals to every age group across the world. Whether it is for the instantly recognizable equipment, high play-value toys, engaging children's books, or popular apparel, John Deere is an ideal licensed-brand partner for a games company.”
