Breitling is on board to fete the British air force’s 100th anniversary with limited edition watch models.
EUROPE–The Royal Air Force has partnered with independent Swiss watchmaker Breitling to debut a limited edition range of watches to celebrate the RAF’s 100th anniversary.
IMG, RAF’s licensing agent, brokered the deal.
The new line will include a limited number of four new models–including 100 units of each Colt Skyracer, Aerospace and Avenger GMT II models, as well as 25 units of the Navitimer 01 46 model.
Furthermore, as part of the RAF100 Centenary celebration, one Navitimer 01 46 will be auctioned to raise money in support of the RAF100 Appeal, which raises charitable funds to achieve the wider RAF100 objectives, including commemorating the achievements of the RAF family and creating a lasting legacy.
“The RAF100 licensing campaign is designed to showcase and celebrate the RAF’s rich heritage and achievements through quality products that help tell its story to the world,” says Tim Smith, licensing director, IMG. “Breitling has been part of that story for a long time, and releasing its first limited collection of RAF watches is a celebration of that heritage.”
The RAF-inspired watches will be available from Breitling’s chosen selected distribution and its own brand stores. The RAF100 campaign will run from October 2017 through September 2018 and will include a score of events, activities, charitable initiatives and new licensed merchandise.
