Ubisoft and Dark Horse Comics have announced a brand-new comic, “Hyper Scape #1 The First Principle Part 1.”

Based on the popular video game title, “Hyper Scape #1 The First Principle Part 1” immerses readers in a dystopian future. The free digital comic book series is developed in collaboration with Ubisoft's Hyper Scape team. It is written by Marielle Quesney and Jesse Scoble.

“We are ecstatic to be partnering with

Dark Horse

and expand the world of ‘Hyper Scape’ beyond the game itself so players and other audiences can dive deeper into our lore,”

says Jean-Christophe Guyot, creative director, “Hyper Scape.”

“From the very start we’ve developed ‘Hyper Scape’ not only as a Battle Royale but also a rich universe full of diverse characters and mysteries to unfold. Comics are for us the perfect medium to tell those stories so we’re very excited to release our first one today!”

Set in 2054, “Hyper Space” takes place in world where 10 billion people are now suffocating in mega-cities. A corporation

called Prisma Dimensions created a massive digital world called the “Hyper Scape” to accommodate the population and an upgrade to the system is about to be unveiled, revolutionizing the experience… but at what cost?

Working with the team at Ubisoft to create a comics series that is being released along with the seasons of the actual game has been a challenge, but with the enthusiasm on both sides for such a cool and unique concept it has been a real pleasure,” says Freddye Miller, editor, Dark Horse Comics. “I hope players of the game enjoy the added experience of the comics.”

“Hyper Scape #1 The First Principle Part 1” is the first issue in a free digital series made up of twelve ten-page comics to be released monthly starting in Sept. It is available on the Hyper Scape website as well Dark Horse Digital, Comixology and other digital comics websites.

For Dark Horse Comics, the deal follows on the company’s recent partnership with Studio71 for a
