Barbie, MAC Cosmetics Team for Lipstick Shade

MAC Cosmetics has teamed with Mattel for a shade of lipstick inspired by Barbie.

The new Barbie Style MAC lipstick is a cool-toned bubblegum pink shade in gold packaging.

As of now, the lipstick is the only known product in the collaboration. Fans can get their hands on it March 9, exclusively at maccosmetics.com.

Mattel’s Barbie cosmetics deal comes as part of a busy licensing season for the doll brand. Last month, the toy maker teamed up with Forever 21 for an apparel line. The collection included 10 pieces all for under $30 a piece.

The Barbie deal’s also come on the heels of Mattel’s more broad partnership with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Mattel’s new line of toys reflects the five new sports added to the Olympic program in Tokyo: baseball/softball, sport climbing, karate, skateboarding and surfing. Product lines from Barbie, Hot Wheels and UNO will be a part of the initial launch.
