Hyundai Motor Group has confirmed that they are in talks with Apple for a potential collaboration to develop an “Apple Car,”

Collaborations with a number of global automobile makers for the launch of an electric car have been confirmed, including Hyundai Motors. However, nothing has been finalized and the pair are currently in early stages of talks.

According to South Korean news media Hankyung, Hyundai has finished reviewing Apple's proposal, but a sign-off on the deal still needs to take place. Hankyung also reports that Hyundai and Apple’s collaboration will include the manufacturing and development of the electric cars and its battery. The company’s overall goal will be to launch the car in 2027.

The report follows a Reuters article that confirmed Apple was planning to start producing its own electric vehicle in 2024.

Hyundai has previously confirmed that it was developing next-generation batteries of its own, but the Apple news is the latest in the company’s plans.
