Japan is the third largest licensing market in the world. The country’s thriving pop culture landscape and large consumer population have made it a significant player in the international licensing scene.
As so many global brands try to get a foothold in the market or expand preexisting partnerships, Licensing Expo Japan has become a popular destination for companies that do business in the region. Co-located with the Tokyo International Gift Show at the Tokyo Big Sight, the annual trade show's mission is to provide licensing opportunities around the world by bringing brands and products together.
The trade show was launched in 2017 and has quickly become one of Japan's premier industry events. It features halls dedicated to consumer products, including fashion and accessories, home décor, sports and leisure, health and beauty, stationery and pet products.
Running from Feb. 5 through Feb. 7 this year, License Global is on hand to capture the sights and sounds from the show floor. Here are some of the images we captured during the opening portion of Licensing Expo Japan.
