Smiley has unveiled plans for its latest brand extension–an animated kids' TV series called "Smiley Kids."

Currently in pre-production and due to broadcast in 2017, the show will be officially launched at MIPCOM in Cannes, France, this October.

The series is produced by OuiDO! Productions ("Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks," " Sonic Boom") and is developed in partnership with Dacher Keltner, a professor of psychology at the University of California, director of the Greater Good Science Centre and author of the best-selling books Born to Be Good and The Science of a Meaningful Life

Targeted to upper preschoolers, "Smiley Kids" will explore emotions, early stage development and emotional intelligence in a comedy-adventure format.

Smiley is also already developing a complete range of products to complement the TV series release in discussion with a range of licensees.
