eOne Builds Teen Lifestyle Brands

Entertainment One Licensing has announced a number of new expansions for its teen lifestyle brands including cosmetics for So So Happy and apparel for Skelanimals at Hot Topic.

The company is launching a new teen program for the Skelanimals brand at Hot Topic, where the brand first made its retail debut back in 2006, generating more than $27 million in sales over two years.

Legacy licensees Lounge Fly and Toynami have developed new collections of bags, wallets, jewelry and plush–many featuring the newly released character Bonita the Unicorn–to complement fashion apparel and tees from Iron Fist and Goodie Two Sleeves. The collection will roll out in late-July at select Hot Topic stores across the U.S. and online.

That same month, eOne will also roll out a series of comedic animated shorts featuring the Skelanimals brand that will be supported by paid media and available on YouTube. Additionally, Nail Pop has signed on create Skelanimals nail decals that will be sold at specialty stores.

“We

are thrilled to be debuting the latest Skelanimals collection with our partners at Hot Topic, just before our 10 year anniversary with them in 2016,” says Nina Leong, senior vice president, lifestyle, eOne Licensing.

In a separate deal for Skelanimals sister brand So So Happy (both previously owned by Art Impressions, which was acquired by eOne), Kelly Teegarden Organics will launch a line of So So Happy cosmetics targeted to young adults at health specialty stores across the U.S. this summer. The line of all-natural, organic makeup will include lipsticks, glosses, lip treatments and balms.

The So So Happy brand has enjoyed extensive social media coverage this spring with the launch in May of its fashion collection from Iron Fist. The apparel line debuted on e-tailer DollsKill.com.

Finally, eOne has also teamed up to develop branded debit cards for both brands in a partnership with Card.com.
