The Mary Blair Estate has appointed Firefly Brand Management to bring the art of Disney artist Mary Blair to licensing.

Blair was behind the art of many Disney films from the early 1940s to mid-1950s including Cinderella, Alice and Wonderland and Peter Pan, as well as the park attraction It’s a Small World from the early 1960s.

Earlier this month, Disney Interactive released a new web series based on the It’s A Small World park attraction animated in Blair’s style.

“We are excited to be representing such an iconic and legendary artist, her magical and timeless works of art offer a joyful creativity, style and whimsy that lend themselves to a wide range of products including cosmetics, home décor, accessories, apparel and collectibles,” says Cynthia Modders, president, Firefly Brand Management.

“My sister Jeanne and I are thrilled to be working with the dynamic, cutting edge team at Firefly,” says Maggie Richardson, Blair’s niece. “We both grew up around Mary and her art–not only her Disney, children’s books and other projects, but the art she did for herself, her family and friends and for special occasions–created from pure enjoyment and her deep love of painting. This unique and versatile body of work spans Mary’s lifetime and is imbued with her now famous Mary Blair magic. We are delighted to be sharing it through our new association with Firefly.”
