Jennifer Lawlor, Zodiak Rights’ new senior vice president of strategy and planning, consumer products, spoke exclusively to License! Global from the show floor yesterday to outline her priorities in a role Matthew Frank, Zodiak chief executive officer, described as “an absolutely key hiring” for the company.

As Zodiak Rights continues its international rollout for top preschool properties like Waybuloo and Little Princess, Lawlor says: “We will develop rounded business plans for all the Zodiak properties, evolving what is already going on at a vital time for the company. From grass roots Zodiak has grown some fantastic properties and now we want them to play a bigger role on the international stage.”
Commenting on individual properties, Lawlor says: “there is a lot of work still to do with top brands such as Little Princess, Waybuloo and Mister Maker. Yo Gabba Gabba! is a huge hit but we believe it has more potential. Simon’s Cat and Mr Bean round out the portfolio nicely.”

Lawlor brings strong strategic and planning experience after developing brands in emerging markets for Nickelodeon and, previously with 4Kids Entertainment.
