Zodiak Media Group today announced the launch of Zodiak América Latina, a division dedicated to developing and producing television content across Latin America. The new division will be led by chief executive officer Giorgio Gori and chief operating officer Nicola Drago.

Zodiak América Latina will become part of Zodiak’s global network of 45 production companies. The division encompasses two existing businesses, Zodiak Latino and Zodiak Brasil, which will target hispanics in the U.S., Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and other territories in Latin America.

Miami-based RM5to Elemento has been renamed Zodiak Latino. The partnership between the company and Ricky Martin Entertainment will continue. Harris Whitbeck, who served as chief communications officer at Rm5to Elemento, will serve as chief executive officer.

Zodiak Brasil will continue to operate under the management of Chief Executive Officer Paolo Nocetti and Chief Operating Officer Carla Affonso.

“We are excited about backing Harris to build on the important foundations laid alongside RME to date because we believe there are significant opportunities in Latin America for exploitation of the group’s catalog, as well as the ability to develop original content with both Spanish-speaking and Brazilian broadcasters,” says Giorgio Gori, chief executive officer of the Zodiak América Latina. “Zodiak, unique to the large production groups, has a strong Latin culture which we believe will prove central to addressing the needs of our Latin clients.”
