Zodiak Media has created a new division, Zodiak Americas, which will combine Zodiak’s existing production businesses in North, Central and South America.
The consolidation is intended to provide a platform for future expansion in the region, and is part of a plan to increase Zodiak’s focus on the American continents.
“This move is a demonstration of the importance of these geographic markets to us and the pace with which we want to both broaden our activities in TV production and develop our international distribution and online media activities here,” says David Frank, chief executive officer, Zodiak Media.
The new division will be headed by Jonny Slow, whose has been promoted to chief executive officer, Zodiak Americas. Slow will relocate from London to Los Angeles to oversee increased investment and deeper collaboration among the divisions in the region. He previously served as chief operating officer, Zodiak Media.
“By supporting the existing CEOs, expanding into new regions and pursuing new commercial ventures, we're reinforcing our first and foremost goal–to marry the best of the Zodiak catalog with the greatest talent in the biggest and fastest-growing television market in the world,” says Slow.
Slow will work closely with Natalka Znak who was recently named chief executive officer, Zodiak USA, as well as Harris Whitbeck (chief executive officer, Zodiak Latino) and Carla Affonso (chief executive officer, Zodiak Brasil). Expanded divisional roles have also been given to Tony Yates, chief operating officer, and Andy Lennon, chief financial officer.
Zodiak Media currently has 45 production companies in 20 territories around the world.
