Cartoon Network Enterprises signed its first direct-to-retail licensing agreement with U.S. retailer Steve & Barry’s to more aggressively launch and market its Adult Swim apparel lines. As part of the deal, the retailer will sell T-shirts for men, women, and youth inspired by “Aqua Teen Hunger Force” and “Space Ghost Coast to Coast” for holiday 2007. The line may expand to include other tops, bottoms, headwear, and outerwear.



Toys ‘R’ Us Expands Sony Offerings


Toys ‘R’ Us is offering customers a wider selection of new digital products as part of an expanded selection of Sony products in its New York City Times Square store. The 550-square-foot dedicated department features an assortment of products including Cyber-shot digital still cameras, Handycam camcorders, Walkman portable MP3 and CD players, VAIO notebook, mylo personal communicator, Sony Reader, and many more personal audio products. Dedicated employees specially trained about Sony products will help customers make informed decisions

about which items are best suited for their lifestyles. Consumers will be encouraged to test-drive the devices to get hands-on experience before purchasing.



Brosnan to Voice “Thomas & Friends”


HIT Entertainment is adding star power to its famous train series, inking a deal with actor Pierce Brosnan as the new voice of the narrator for the DVD and television series “Thomas & Friends.” Brosnan will make his debut in “Thomas & Friends: The Great Discovery” direct-to-DVD special due in the United States and UK in fall 2008. Brosnan will voice all English-language releases for the brand, including three upcoming “Thomas & Friends” television series and three DVD specials.



MIPCOM Junior Issues a Challenge
