AG Properties Secures Home Entertainment Partner


AG Properties named Sony Wonder the exclusive home entertainment partner forits new Holly Hobbie & Friends direct-to-DVD releases. As part of themulti-year deal, Sony Wonder will market and distribute at least two titles ayear, with the first release, Holly Hobbie & Friends: Christmas Wishes,planned for October 2006. Two additional titles currently are in finalproduction for a 2007 release, and four more titles are in development.



American Idol Stages New Software Debut


Sony Media Software signed an agreement with FremantleMedia LicensingWorldwide, Americas, to develop American Idol Jam Trax and American IdolExtreme Music Creator software. Jam Trax software (suggested retail, $19.95)comes with more than 600 music loops and samples, allowing users to recordvocals, change tempo and key, and e-mail songs to others right from within thesoftware. Extreme Music Creator software ($49.95) is a more powerfulapplication that lets users produce songs on their home computer. Both includethe bonus Randy Jackson's Producer's Pack and will be on shelves in October.Future editions of Randy Jackson's Producer's Packs, add-on loops, and musicsamples for Extreme Music Creator software are due for holiday 2006.



MTV Networks Acquires Atom Entertainment


MTV Networks, a division of Viacom, Inc., will acquire Atom Entertainment,Inc., and its portfolio, which includes casual games Shockwave.com andAddictingGames.com, and short film and video sites AtomFilms.com andAddictingClips.com. The $200 million deal furthers the company's multiplatformstrategy of building an engaging universe of music, gaming, entertainment,news, and interactivity for targeted audiences.



Fisher-Price Reels in National Wildlife Federation


Fisher-Price is working with National Wildlife Federation to bring wildlifephotos and educational content to its new Look & Learn line for View-Master.The first Look & Learn titles to hit shelves this summer include Dinosaurs,Marine Life, and Rain Forest Creatures with more titles due in 2007. TheView-Master Gift Set includes binoculars, a reel case containing the 3-D imagephoto reels, and animal facts provided by the National Wildlife Federation.



iTunes Adds New Programming


A&E Television Networks and Apple are making programming from A&ENetwork, The Biography Channel, and The History Channel available for purchaseand download on the iTunes Music Store (

).iTunes offers more than 200 TV shows for $1.99 per episode for viewing on acomputer or iPod.

Son of the Sea to Rep Artist


Son of the Sea, Inc., will represent artist Phil Roberts, best known for hisdepictions of a surfer's lifestyle. A master painter, Roberts' expertise iscapturing personalities in portraits. His most recent piece is the paintingtitled "Pros at Teauhupoo," which was printed in the current Surfer magazine'sBig Issue.

James Meserve, former CEO/president of Applejack Art Partners of Vermont,started Next Day Art, a venture focused on artist representation, artlicensing, publishing, and ideation. The company currently is soliciting newartists for representation.

KidzEntertainment, CopCorp's sub-agent for Nordic countries, signed on HB TextilA/S for T-shirts, underwear, socks, and nightwear for sales and distribution inDenmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland, as well as Egmont SerieforiagetA/S for downloadable images, ringtones, and games for mobile devices inDenmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Egmont also secured the right to producestationery in those markets.
