Mattel will hold a day-long Hot Wheels festival in the city of Speed, KS,Sunday, August 6, to honor the automotive history of America's rural highways.No doubt the expected attendance of more than 5,000 will outnumber the 35people who currently reside in the Mid-Western town. The celebration will kickoff with a parade led by a life-sized Hot Wheels car and end with an extensiveshow of classic vehicles and hot rods, a Miss Hot Wheels pageant, a motorcycleshow, and food and local vendors. Attendees will receive a commemorative HotWheels event car while supplies last.

Fremantle Home Entertainment Gets Prehistoric


Fremantle Home Entertainment will handle worldwide DVD sales and distributionfor the Prehistoric Park TV series. Due late summer in the UK, the DVD willcontain six episodes and include a "making of" featurette. The company alsosecured home entertainment sales and distribution deals in Australia with MRAEntertainment and in Japan with SPO Inc.



Designer Brings Character to Idlehour Entertainment


Idlehour Entertainment signed a multi-year agreement with lifestyle appareldesigner Michelle Quaranta and will manage all licensing initiatives related tothe designer's Mija character. Mija, a Tibetan monk, was introduced in 1997 asthe subject of a yoga-inspired apparel line.
