United Media Is Tickled About New Client United Media will represent the U.S. licensing rights for Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto!in a new deal with Collingwood O?Hare Entertainment. Licensing plans for theprogram that airs on Cartoon Network?s Tickle U block initially will focus ontoys, publishing, and videos. Additional categories such as gifts, packagedgoods, stationery, HBA, and domestics also will be targeted. As the programcontinues to develop, United Media will seek promotional opportunities andelectronic partners. SBG/b EQUAL Jumpstarts Biz with New Deal SBG/b EQUAL inked a deal with Knowledge Adventure to distribute the company?sentire new children?s branded interactive TV DVD games worldwide. The titles,due in May, are based on Knowledge Adventure?s JumpStart franchise. Thethird-party distribution deal also marks the launch of SBG/b EQUAL?s newworldwide publishing arm. WBCP Teams with McFarlane Toys Warner Bros. Consumer Products will work with McFarlane Toys to create a lineof Hanna-Barbera action figures due on shelves in the summer and continuingthrough the fall of 2006. McFarlane initially will concentrate on characterssuch as Fred Flintstone, Tom and Jerry, and Quickdraw McGraw with individualpieces retailing for $12 and box sets priced at around $22. In other news, WBCP appointed Promotional Partners Worldwide the licensingsub-agent to represent the 2006 FIFA World Cup in the Greater China andSoutheast Asia region, specifically Thailand. Robocop Collectors Targeted with Replica Lines MGM Consumer Products and Sci-Fi Metropolis will bring Robocop to life with aline of museum-quality, limited-edition replicas. Robocop, Cain, and ED 209each will be available in full- and half-size replicas. The full-size robotswill range from $5,500 to $18,000. FremantleMedia?s Got Game FremantleMedia Licensing Worldwide inked deals with DVD Pro and Circle Plc forDVD games. DVD Pro will create games based on Play Your Cards Right (UK, Eire,France, Spain, and Italy) and Blankety Blank (UK and Eire), while Circleacquired rights for The Price Is Right (UK, Eire, France, Spain, and Italy) andBlockbusters (UK and Eire). The games will be available at retail in October.In a separate agreement, FLW licensed rights to the UK?s largest digital paytelevision platform, Sky, to create an interactive TV game based on Strike ItRich. The game, currently in development, will replicate the show?s format andis expected to launch toward the end of this year. In other news, Catherine Mackay, a 10-year veteran of FremantleMedia, decidedto leave the company to become CEO of a new Internet search engine. Gary Carterwas appointed to the newly created position of creative officer, new platforms. New Cartoon Network Series Is Out of This World Marathon Animation will partner with Cartoon Network on Team Galaxy with 52half-hour episodes planned. The series is a mix of CGI and 2-D animation set inthe ?coolest high school in the universe, Galaxy High, where the students aretrained to become space marshals.? A licensing push is planned to coincide withthe launch of the new series with a full spectrum of products including toys,books, and interactive games. Elvis Is Fabric of New Licensing Initiatives V.I.P. by Cranston launched a new fabric collection called ?Elvis Lives? inpartnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises, Inc.
