Warner Bros. Consumer Products and master toy partner Mattel have a number of new DC Comics-inspired lines set to hit retailers soon, including a range based on the upcoming feature film Green Lantern.

The Green Lantern line for both kids and adult fans will include action figures, vehicles, role play, play sets, games and puzzles. In addition, all action figures will come with a Green Lantern ring and deluxe figures will come with a special feature to replicate elements from the film. Mattel will also support the property across its Hot Wheels, Tyco R/C and Uno brands. Product rollouts will be timed to the Green Lantern release in summer 2011.

"The sheer volume of the DC Comics property portfolio lends itself to an incredible array of consumer offerings," says Brad Globe, president, Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "As master licensee, Mattel has consistently created innovative products that are true to the spirit of the DC Comics heroes and villains from which they are inspired. We look forward to seeing the results of the next wave of property collaborations."

Meanwhile, Mattel will also launch a line this year for Cartoon Network series "Young Justice," produced by Warner Bros. Animation. The series features a wide range of characters from DC Comics in their teenage years, including Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and Artemis. The range from Mattel will include figures, play sets and more.

"Batman: The Brave and the Bold" will also see a new line of toys, called Total Armor (spring 2011) from Mattel. The range will see action figures equipped with additional weapons and high-tech gadgets, as well as role-play items.

Mattel and Fisher-Price also plan to build upon its Super Friends line (fall 2010) for boys ages 3 to 8. It will include new motorized vehicles figures and play sets.

In other related news, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Tribune will launch an updated The Lord of the Rings Online free-to-play game this fall across North America and Europe.
