WBCP will license DC Universe super heroes such as Green Lantern, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, as well as MAD Magazine and Vertigo properties in partnership with DC Entertainment for books with publishers worldwide.
These efforts are separate from DC Comics publishing program. DC will continue to publish and handle worldwide subsidiary rights for their comic books and graphic novels.
“DC Comics has enjoyed a loyal fan base for generations and we are thrilled to be able to partner with our friends at DC and represent their licensed publishing business across all formats,” says Karen McTier, executive vice president of domestic licensing and worldwide marketing for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. “Many of our top properties already enjoy a major presence in the licensed publishing world and we are eager to work with the very best in the business in order to further expand DC’s consumer offerings in this category.”
