Rich Ross, chairman of Walt Disney Studios, recently announced plans for a 3-D sequel to 2001's

Monsters Inc.,

as well as a release date for Pixar's

Brave,

formerly known as

The Bear and the Bow.

Monsters Inc. 2

would be the next big 3-D animation project to follow Disney's anticipated release of

Toy Story 3

(June 18).

Monsters Inc.,

which was released on Nov. 2, 2001, earned $525 million worldwide at the box office.

Monsters Inc. 2

is slated for a Nov. 16, 2012, release.

Meanwhile, Ross also announced the re-titling of Pixar's

The Bear and the Bow

to

Brave,

as well as a release date of June 15, 2012. The animated fairytale film reportedly stars the voice talents of Reese Witherspoon, Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson.
