Portugal’s No. 1 channel TV1 has signed a new content deal with Viacom International Media Networks for a range of Nickelodeon children’s programming in the first major co-branded block for the TV channel.

TV1 currently holds a 27 percent share of the country’s market and predominantly airs locally produced rather than third-party programming.

The agreement includes a co-branding package under the new concept, Kid Kanal, and will see Nickelodeon programs like “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” “Dora the Explorer,” “Fanboy & Chum Chum,” “Kung Fu Panda” and “Winx Club” air on Saturdays and Sundays beginning this November.
