America’s VetDogs, a non-profit that provides service and guide dogs to veteran soldiers, has secured two new licensees for dog toys and treats, in a deal brokered by Moda Licensing.

Ethical Products has signed on to create a range of dog toys that will include rubber, nylon, canvas and rope toys, as well as plush, and will be available at specialty and mass retailers in the first quarter of 2013.

Pet King will create a line of dog treats including rawhide, biscuits and jerky, available later this year.

A portion of the proceeds of all products will go back to America’s VetDogs to help raise, train and match assistance dogs to veterans.

“This notion that consumers can purchase quality dog products while supporting American’s military heroes is a strong differentiator that will resonate with all dog owners, including members of the military, veterans, their families and friends,” says Michelle Alfandari, president and chief executive officer, Moda Licensing.

existing licensee Bil-Jac Foods, which has created a line of dog treats already available at retail.

“We are delighted to welcome Ethical Products and Pet King as our newest licensees,” says Wells Jones, chief executive officer, America’s VetDogs. “Consumers and retailers have been very receptive to these products that help to support our mission of providing assistance dogs to veterans with disabilities.”

America’s VetDogs, in partnership with Moda Licensing, is currently seeking additional licensees for crates and kennels, dog food, dog beds, flea and tick supplies, leashes and leads, collars, training, publishing, plush toys for the kids market, apparel and other categories.
