The campaign, which encourages children to spend time outdoors and connect with nature, features two educational kits (one for educators and one for parents) that use characters, imagery and themes from the Universal film Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax.
Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is the story of a forest creature “speaks for the trees.”
“This public-private partnership is an example of how we can collectively reach the minds and hearts of our children,” says Safiya Samman, director, U.S. Forest Service Conservation Education program. “By engaging them with an indomitable character whose love for nature as his guiding principle, we can connect children to the land and help them identify their role as land stewards.”
