Producers of the
Twilight
film franchise, have reportedly negotiated a deal to bring French character Babar to the big screen.
According to Deadline, Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey of production company Temple Hill have agreed to the deal with Nelvana and the Clifford Ross Company for the film rights.
The big screen adaptation will reportedly be a combination of live-action and CG.
In 1989, New Line produced the animated
Babar: The Movie.
Babar originated as a book series in 1931 from Jean de Brunhoff.
