True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps
is set to hit shelves Sept. 5. The book was compiled by Cajun chef Marcelle Bienvenu, with the help of series creator Alan Ball and associate producer Gianna Sobol

cookbook will relish the flavors of the ‘True Blood’ universe with plenty of authentic dish–both on the plate, and behind-the-scenes.”
Recipes for items such as blood-red beet bisque and crimson sweet tea are mingled with photos from the show’s four seasons and side stories from the set of the HBO series.
The book includes 85 authentic bayou-country recipes, each introduced by “True Blood” characters, as

This isn’t the first brand extension for the HBO series; “True Blood” also has a fragrance and a line of beauty products.
The series takes place in a Louisiana where vampires have “come out of the coffin” and can live side-by-side with humans thanks to the invention of mass-produced synthetic blood. Based on the Sookie Stackhouse novels by Charlaine Harris, the series boasts more than 13 million viewers in 50 countries around the world. Season five of “True Blood” wrapped up on Sunday.
