Gund announced the launch of its Squaredy Cats plush toy line at Toys ‘R’ Us and other independent toy stores. The Squaredy Cats license positions Gund in the coveted tween marketplace for the first time.
The initial line features eight plush cats, and hit stores in February. Created by Monkey Doodle Dandy, the Squaredy Cats property has followers on Facebook, YouTube and various blog sites.
“Gund is famous for offering the world’s most huggable plush toys for more than 110 years, and we are always seeking innovative partnerships that help us reach consumers in new and fresh ways,” says Vince Smart, vice president of marketing at Gund. “With their fun, fresh messages and rapidly growing fan base, we are excited to add Squaredy Cats to the Gund family.”
