4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Studios have given the go ahead to construct the first theme park ride based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is celebrating its 25^th anniversary this year.

The TMNT 4-D Dark Ride will be located in South Korea's new indoor theme park, Scifanta's Incheon, set to open in April 2011. 4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Studios have teamed up with 3DBA, the location-based attraction developer, and another developer Falcon's Treehouse. Both 3DBA and FTH have collaborated on attractions, such as Splash Battle, CircuMotion, Flying Theater and others.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is a classic brand that has broad appeal and is much loved by children and parents alike, providing the perfect opportunity for increased marketability," says Roger Houben, president of 3DBA. "Our partnership with 4Kids fits the current market trend for heritage brand-themed attractions and initial responses to the concept have been very positive."
