Thomas & Friends ranked number one in the preschool toys category in the U. S., according to The NPD Group. The property holds the top spot for preschool properties and made the top 10 for the entire toy industry in 2010.
Earlier this month, Thomas & Friends ranked as the number-one preschool toy property in the U.K. for the 11th year in a row. Thomas & Friends also sits in pole position in other key markets, including Germany, Australia, Korea and Japan.
In addition, Thomas & Friends toy sales increased 47 percent, in comparison to a 1.9 percent sales increase for traditional toys in the U.S., according to the NPD Group.
